Bookshop by the Blackdowns is an independent, family-run bookshop in the centre of the small market town of Wellington. Nestled at the foot of the beautiful Blackdown Hills on the borders of Somerset and Devon, we are easy to find, just off Junction 26 of the M5 motorway. We aim to serve our local community and celebrate the wonderful county of Somerset. We are surrounded by an eclectic mix of other small shops and, so, are a perfect stopping off point if you are travelling to the West Country.

We stock a carefully curated range of adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction, with an emphasis on the natural world, as well as unusual, beautiful cards and gifts often with a book theme.
